Tri-City Storm Acquires Chicago's Leading Scorer Brandon Duhaime + Draft Pick

Kearney, Ne. - The Tri-City Storm has acquired forward Brandon Duhaime and a 2017 Phase I 6th round draft pick from the Chicago Steel in exchange for forward Austen Long, a 2017 Phase I 4th round draft pick and future considerations.

The 18-year-old Duhaime was leading the Steel in points and assists at the time of the trade, compiling 32 points and 22 assists through the first 39 games of his USHL career.

The 6-foot-1, 198-lb. left winger has kept a strong pace since the new year began, with three goals and seven assists in his last 11 games.

"We are excited to add Brandon to our core group," said Muckalt. "We feel Brandon will complement our forward unit. With his shooting, skating and physicality, we feel he brings valuable tools as we push towards the playoffs."

The 1997-born Duhaime spent last season with the Merritt Centennials in the BCHL, scoring six goals and 25 points in 53 games. The native of Parkland, Florida also played three games with the West Kelowna Warriors (BCHL) in 2013-14.

Before suiting up in the BCHL, the Providence College commit played for Pursuit of Excellence, also located in British Columbia, Canada, from 2012-14, totaling 49 goals and 161 points in two seasons. During 2013-14, the left-handed shot ripped 23 goals and 39 assists in 64 games.

The Storm takes on the Sioux Falls Stampede on the road next Friday, Feb. 12 and Saturday, Feb. 13 at 7:05 p.m, with the Viaero Wireless Pregame Show at 6:45 p.m. Tri-City is next at home on Feb. 19 against Sioux Falls for Thunderstruck Night, with a Free Kids Friday and a special thunderstick giveaway.
