Lexington Legends News Release

Peter Lambert and Dylan Craig combined for a four-hit shutout, and Terry McClure had three hits and three runs batted in as the Asheville Tourists rolled to a 10-0 win over the Lexington Legends Wednesday night in Asheville.

Asheville scored three runs in the first inning. With two outs and no one on base, Brendan Rodgers was hit by a pitch. He stole second base and came home on a base hit by Brian Mundell. After Yonathan Daza walked, McClure's single scored Mundell and sent Daza to third. McClure stole second, and Daza came home on catcher Xavier Fernandez' throwing error.

The Tourists added four runs in the fourth inning. A triple by Max George and a double by Josh Fuentes produced a run. Fuentes came home on a single by Mylz Jones. Jones stole second and scored on Chris Rabago's single. After Rabago stole second, Rodgers hit a grounder to Marten Gasparini at shortstop, and first baseman Samir Duenez was unable to handle the throw to first. Duenez was charged with an error, and Rabago scored on the play, giving Asheville a 7-0 lead.

In the bottom of the sixth, a double by Jones, a walk to Mundell and a double by Daza scored one run, and McClure followed with a two-run single to wrap up the scoring.

Lambert (1-1) pitched the first five innings and got the win. He allowed two hits, struck out four batters and walked none. Craig finished the game and was awarded a save, his first of the season. He gave up two hits, struck out two batters and walked none.

Legends starter Nolan Watson (0-1) was the losing pitcher.

The Legends won two out of three in the series, and will return home to face the West Virginia Power in a four-game series beginning Thursday night at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
