Toronto Marlies Advance to Eastern Conference Finals

The Toronto Marlies secured their place in the Eastern Conference Finals last night, beating the Albany Devils in seven games. Toronto advances to the Conference Finals for the fourth time in team history, their first Eastern Conference Final, after spending the first 10 seasons as members of the Western Conference. The Marlies will face off against the Hershey Bears, AHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals. The series will be a 2-3-1-1 format with Toronto starting the first two games in Hershey; a full schedule is below.

Game 1 - Fri., May 20 - Toronto at Hershey, 7:00

Game 2 - Sat., May 21 - Toronto at Hershey, 7:00

Game 3 - Wed., May 25 - Hershey at Toronto, 7:30

Game 4 - Fri., May 27 - Hershey at Toronto, 7:30

*Game 5 - Sun., May 29 - Hershey at Toronto, 3:00

*Game 6 - Tue., May 31 - Toronto at Hershey, 7:00

Toronto and Hershey met twice this season with both teams earning a victory. The Marlies Connor Carrick, currently leading the AHL in post season scoring, spent parts of three seasons with the Hershey Bears before being traded to Toronto this season. Head Coach Sheldon Keefe also spent time with the Bears, registering 32 points in 59 games in the 2003-04 season.
