Tony Calderone Signs with Dallas, Joins Texas on Tryout Agreement

FRISCO, Texas - Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has signed right wing Tony Calderone to a two-year entry level contract. The rookie forward will join the AHL's Texas Stars on an amateur tryout agreement for the remainder of the 2017-18 season.

Calderone, 23, appeared in 40 games and served as captain for the University of Michigan in 2017-18, registering 44 points (25-19=44). He ranked first on the club in goals (25), power play goals (7), game-winning goals (4) and shots on goal (132), while finishing second in points (44) and fourth in assists (19). The forward skated in all three of the Wolverines' NCAA tournament games and tallied four points (2-2=4), helping Michigan reach the Frozen Four semifinal vs. Notre Dame.

The 6-foot, 200-pound native of Trenton, Mich. recorded 91 points (54-37') in 134 career contests over his four seasons at Michigan. He also spent two seasons (2012-14) with the Sioux Falls Stampede of the USHL, tallying 85 points (53-32...) in 124 games.

The Texas Stars are the primary development affiliate of the NHL's Dallas Stars, and currently playing their ninth season at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.
