Edmonton, AB----General Manager and Head Coach Derek Keenan announced today the release of forward Tom Johnson and addition of Michael Cudmore to the active roster. Cudmore was activated to the Active Roster from the Evaluation Period List from the Unable to Physically Perform list due to a knee infection.

Cudmore the second-round pick (15th overall) brings defensive grit to the line-up. The six-foot-one, 205-pound Ashburn, Ontario, a Whitby Warriors product who played under Coach Keenan and on the floor with Matthews and Knight.

Cudmore, a previous America East Conference All-Conference Second Team player, played this past summer in the Major Series Lacrosse, notching five assists and going 36-for-61 on faceoffs with the Brooklin Redmen.

"Michael is really mature and a big, strong defender who is good at pushing the ball up the floor," noted Keenan.

The first Battle of Alberta Lacrosse four game series is this Saturday, February 2, 2013 on Crystal Glass Field at Rexall Place at 7:00 p.m against provincial rivals Calgary Roughnecks.
