Titans Make Multiple Roster Moves; Include Trade with Idaho for Sniper

Trenton Titans News Release

TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Titans, members of the ECHL and proud affiliate of the National Hockey League's Philadelphia Flyers, have announced that they have acquired forward Jacob Cepis in a trade from the Idaho Steelheads for future considerations. In separate moves, Kelsey Wilson has decided to explore an opportunity to play overseas and the Flyers have recalled defenseman Matt Konan to Adirondack (AHL), while sending forward Matt Mangene to the Titans on loan.

Cepis is a second year pro from Parma, OH. The 5-8, 185 pound sniper has scored 58 points (26G, 32 A) in 72 games over the last season-plus with the Steelheads. He has six goals and seven assists in 15 games with Idaho this year. Cepis also recorded nine points (four goals) in nine playoff games last year.

Wilson, who the Titans acquired in a trade with San Francisco earlier this year, has decided to pursue an opportunity to play hockey in England with Nottingham. Wilson played in five games with the Titans, registering 38 PIM and a -1 rating. He had 80 PIM, two assists and a -8 rating in 13 total ECHL games this year.

A 23-year-old from Manorville, NY, Mangene played in four games for Adirondack this season before receiving an upper-body injury on October 28 in a game at Syracuse. The free agent from the University of Maine (16 goals in 40 games last year) had spent time as both a wing and a defenseman in college, but has been used exclusively as a forward in the pros. He has not seen any game action since being injured. Mangene signed with the Flyers in April, 2012 and immediately joined the Phantoms playing in five games in the last two weeks of the regular season.

Konan came to the Titans after being hurt in preseason action with the Phantoms. He came to Trenton on November 19, registering an assist and two PIM in five games - the first games of his professional career.

The Trenton Titans returned in the 2011-12 hockey season after a five year hiatus and boasted a 26.1% increase in attendance over the previous year, the largest of any team in the (then) 20-team ECHL.
