Fort Wayne TinCaps News Release
Fort Wayne, IN - July 30th was yet another record night for professional baseball in Fort Wayne as 2,599 fans walked up to purchased tickets for Thursday night's TinCaps game at Parkview Field. The overall crowd of 7,121 enjoyed a beautiful night for baseball and another TinCaps victory.
The TinCaps also surpassed the 2008 season attendance total of 256,693, when the team averaged 3,720 per game. Through 52 games in 2009, the TinCaps have averaged 5,030 per game for a total of 261,568 fans, with 18 home games still remaining.
"We are excited about tonight's milestones, but there is plenty of season remaining," said TinCaps Vice President, Brian Schackow. "With 18 home games remaining on the schedule, as well as the playoffs, there is still more excitement happening at Parkview Field this season. While nearly 2,600 in people buying tickets when they arrive at the game is tremendous, we do encourage fans to purchase their tickets in advance before they had out to the ballgame."
There are a number of day-of-game ticket buying options. "Fans can also purchase tickets over the phone by calling the Parkview Field Ticket Office at (260) 482-6400," said Schackow. "If they know earlier in the day that they are coming to the game, they can visit the Parkview Field Ticket Office or purchase their tickets online and print them out at home. We also encourage fans to purchase tickets early once you select a game date. There is always a chance that your game could sell out, so purchase your tickets and secure your seats."
With games throughout the weekend, the TinCaps are anticipating great crowds. "We encourage fans that want to avoid waiting in ticket lines at the ballpark to plan ahead," stated Schackow. "Eliminate the need to wait in line by taking advantage of our pre-purchase options. Whether it be online, by phone, or in person, we have an option to take care of every ticket purchase need without the need to wait in line."
