Fort Wayne TinCaps News Release

Fort Wayne, Ind. - The Fort Wayne TinCaps announced today that prior to the game on Tuesday at 7:05pm, two A-10 Thunderbolts from Fort Wayne's 122nd Fighter Wing will be conducting a flyover of Parkview Field as part of Military Appreciation Day festivities. Fans are encouraged to make their way downtown in time to be a part of this unique spectacle.

"We are excited for this special opportunity," said Michael Limmer, TinCaps Vice President of Marketing. "This community is proud of the 122nd Fighter Wing and the men and women that serve our country from this community. We are honored that they are able to make a flyover part of Military Appreciation Day." Military Appreciation Day events start early on Tuesday at Parkview Field with a free, open to the public Military Services Fair in the ballpark's Lincoln Financial Event Center from 11:00am to 2:00pm.

The TinCaps have partnered with the Northeast Indiana Military Services Network to put on this free event for veteran and current military personnel and families.

"We've learned that so many veteran and active military members are not aware of the free or low cost services available to them in our community," stated Limmer. "This event, separate from the game, is the mission of the Northeast Indiana Military Assistance Network. They partnered with us in an attempt to reach out to the military in our area that need their help."

Veteran and active military personnel and their families are encouraged to come by Parkview Field between 11:00am and 2:00pm. Twenty-three organizations will be represented during the Military Services Fair. The fair will also be available during Tuesday night's TinCaps game, but a ticket will be required to enter Parkview Field during the game.

Active and veteran military personnel could request complimentary tickets to this game via TinCapsMilitary.com. Over 1,000 tickets were available through generous donations by individuals, corporate partners, and the TinCaps. (Limited complimentary tickets still remain for veteran and active military personnel to claim on a first come, first served basis. While supplies last.)

"We are in a position to serve the military in our community through the Military Services Fair and show our appreciation during the game," said Limmer. The TinCaps players will be wearing special military-themed uniforms. "The A-10 flyover, military jerseys, Military Services Fair, over one thousand military members and families in attendance, and special pre-game tribute. You can't fit much more into one day at Parkview Field!"
