Playing with the U.S. U-17 Men's National Team, Timbers Academy player Akil Watts made his debut in the FIFA U-17 World Cup in India on Monday during a 1-0 win against Ghana. Most recently, the U-17s fell 3-1 to Colombia in their final group-stage match on Thursday, which means the U.S. U-17s will face either Group B winner Paraguay or the Group C winner in the Round of 16, depending on the results of the final group-stage matches to be played.

Portland's lone goal came in the 16th minute when Josh Darius sped down the right side and rounded the goalkeeper toward the endline. The 16-year-old striker cut the ball back to the middle of the field where Hamman Nasser one-timed it on target. The ball was saved off the line by a Sounders defender, but Rian Jamai converted the rebound .
Prior to the 1-0 win against Seattle, the Timbers U-17s defeated LA Galaxy 3-1 on Oct. 6, before taking a 1-0 win against San Jose Earthquakes on Oct. 7.
