Hamilton Tiger-Cats News Release

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced Tuesday that the football club has signed international free agent linebacker Larry Dean and offensive lineman Brandon Washington.

Dean, 27, has appeared in 61 NFL games since 2011 with the Minnesota Vikings (2011-13) and Buffalo Bills (2014), registering 37 defensive tackles, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. The 6-0, 226-pound linebacker also spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season. In 2012, Dean was one of only 11 special teams players on the NFC's Pro Bowl ballot.

The native of Tifton, Georgia, played four years at Valdosta State from 2007 to 2010 before turning pro. During his career with the Blazers, he set a school record for career tackles (368), earned All-America honours, and was named the National Defensive Player of the Year at the Division II level and Gulf South Conference Defensive Player of the Year as a senior.

Washington, 27, spent three years with the NFL's St. Louis Rams (2012-14), appearing in one game at left guard in 2013. He was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the sixth round, 200th overall, in the 2012 NFL Draft. The 6-2, 318-pound native of Miami, Florida, played three years at the University of Miami from 2009 to 2011, starting at left guard and left tackle in his final two seasons, respectively.
