Norfolk Tides News Release
The Norfolk Tides fell to the Old Dominion Monarchs 2-1 Tuesday night in the Bank of the Commonwealth Scholarship Game at Harbor Park. Tides pitchers pitched for both clubs, with a Brandon Fahey home run in the first inning providing the offensive highlight of the evening.
The game was the 17th in the series between the two teams, with the Tides now holding a 13-3-1 advantage. All proceeds from the game benefited the Baseball Scholarship Fund for Old Dominion University.
J.R. House lined a double off the left-center field wall in the contest, while Mike Cervenak, Terry Tiffee, Eider Torres and Cesar Crespo added singles for the Tides.
Norfolk opens their 2007 International League season Thursday night in Scranton, with the game to be televised locally on WSKY-TV Channel 4. After an eight-game road trip, Norfolk returns to Harbor Park for their home opener on Friday, April 13th against the Louisville Bats, with game time slated for 7:15.
