The Amarillo ThunderHeads completed their best road trip of the season with a sweep of Grand Prairie in a convincing 12-2 win Sunday at QuickTrip Ballpark in Grand Prairie.

Amarillo, 41-45, finished off a road trip between Kansas City and Grand Prairie with a perfect 6-0 record.

The surging ThunderHeads have also won eight of their last nine games and trail American Association South Division rival Laredo by five games in the wild card race with 14 games to play.

Amarillo pounded out 13 hits in Sunday's win with Jordan Guida leading the way by going 3-for-5 with 2 RBI. Former Randall and University of Texas standout Dex Kjerstad also crushed his seventh home run of the season for Amarillo. ThunderHeads starting pitcher Richie Mirowski (3-2) worked five innings, striking out eight and earning the win.

Amarillo hosts its final homestand of the season with a three-game set against the Kansas City T-Bones at 7:05 p.m. today.
