The Stockton Thunder finishes up a three game road trip against San Francisco Bulls, an expansion team to the ECHL's Pacific Division. The game will be the third of 13 meetings between the two teams this season. In the last matchup, San Francisco defeated the Thunder 6-3 on Nov. 24. The Bulls play at the 71-year old Cow Palace and are an affiliate of the San Jose Sharks.

Monday, Dec. 17 - 7:30 p.m.

SITE: HP PAVILION AT SAN JOSE

The two teams move their regular season battle to HP Pavilion at San Jose on Monday which will mark the first game in Thunder history to be played in a current National Hockey League ice surface. The game is hosted by the San Jose Sharks and is a rescheduled Bulls home game from Jan. 16 which was originally slated for the Cow Palace. The Thunder's home ice of Stockton Arena is just 80 miles outside of San Jose. The game is free to the public and remaining tickets (space permitting as first priority is currently given to Sharks and Bulls season ticket holders) will be available at Ticketmaster.com tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.

Stockton is in its seventh year as the NHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers and had a dual affiliation with the Oilers and Sharks from 2010-12. It will be the first ECHL game hosted at a current NHL venue since Oct. 20, 2002 when Mellon Arena (Pittsburgh) hosted a game between Wheeling and Peoria.

Friday and Saturday mark the first two games of the season between the Thunder and Colorado Eagles, who square off in the first set of games since the two teams met last season in the opening round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Thunder swept Colorado 3-0 in a best of five series. The Thunder went 4-5-0 against Colorado last season and defeated the Eagles in the last regular season matchup, 6-2 at Budweiser Events Center on Mar. 7.

WEEK IN REVIEW

BAK 4 - STK 1 (12/9/12): Scott Greenham made 44 saves, including 18 in the third period to help the Bakersfield Condors send the Stockton Thunder (13-6-4, 30 points) to a 4-1 defeat at Rabobank Arena on Sunday. The Thunder saw its five game unbeaten streak (regulation) snapped with the loss and fell to three points behind the Ontario Reign for first place in the Pacific Division.

LV 4 - STK 3 (SO) (12/8/12): Yannick Riendeau had two assists and goaltender Cody Reichard made 39 saves for the Stockton Thunder (13-5-4, 30 points), who settled for a 4-3 shootout loss to the Las Vegas Wranglers at Orleans Arena on Saturday. Justin Maylan helped force overtime with a late third period goal, but Las Vegas held on with Mitch O'Keefe's 41 saves including four additional stops in the shootout. Chris Francis led the Las Vegas offense with a pair of goals.

STK 1 - LV 0 (12/5/12): Goaltender Cody Reichard (5-1-1), just one day after putting on his best performance of the season, upped the bar even higher by stopping all 38 shots he faced and posting the first shutout of his professional career Wednesday night. The Stockton Thunder (13-5-3, 29 points) needed all of his stops, as they pulled out a 1-0 victory at home over the Las Vegas Wranglers in front of 2,538 fans at Stockton Arena. Toni Rajala buried the game winning goal in the second period.

STK 3 - LV 1 (12/4/12): The Stockton Thunder (12-5-3, 27 points) snapped a four-game winless skid, using a three-goal second period to defeat the Las Vegas Wranglers 3-1 at Stockton Arena on Tuesday. Goaltender Cody Reichard (4-1-1) had his best start of the season, stopping 38 shots. In his return to the Thunder, forward Toni Rajala scored to continue his ECHL-leading scoring streak at 12 games. Centers Phil Mangan and Harrison Reed each found the net. Las Vegas' Joe Fallon made 22 saves.
