The Thunder dropped their season-high-match fifth consecutive game and finished the seven-game road trip at 1-6, falling 4.0 games behind Portland for the wild card spot in the Eastern Division. The Sea Dogs won their sixth game in a row.

Nuding (2-10) allowed ten hits in four innings of work, including a double, two-run home run and an RBI single to Portland's Garin Cecchini. Cecchini's blast in the third to right field made the score 3-0, then his bloop single in the fourth capped a three-run rally to double the advantage to 6-0.
Jeremy Bleich and Danny Burawa each tossed two scoreless relief innings for Trenton behind Nuding. Slade Heathcott, Tyler Austin and Reegie Corona each collected two of the team's seven hits.
