Trenton Thunder News Release

(Bowie, MD)- Home runs by Noah Hall and Mike Kinkade led the Trenton Thunder to an 8-4 win over Bowie on Wednesday night. The win shrinks Trenton's Magic Number to make the playoffs to "3" and to win the Northern Division to "5".

The day started with yesterday's suspended game, which ended on a solo homer by Bowie's Noaln Reimold in the 10th Inning for a 5-4 Baysox win. But Trenton (76-53) came out in the regularly scheduled game to score a run in the 1st Inning on an RBI single by Kinkade for a 1-0 lead. Bowie (69-59) took a 2-1 lead in the 2nd Inning on a two-run homer by LF Jeff Fiorentino off Thunder starter Dan McCutchen.

The Thunder then took advantage of a pair of hit batters and an error to score five runs in the 4th inning for a 6-2 lead. Trenton loaded the bases with no outs and then got a sacrifice fly to tie the game, two more runs on an error by 1B Luis Jimenez and a two-run homer from Hall. Bowie starter Oscar Alvarez (10-5) took the loss charged with eight runs (five earned) in six innings.

McCutchen surrendered runs to the Baysox in the 4th and 5th innings, but finished with six innings for the victory. McCutchen (3-1) allowed four runs on four hits with one walk and five strikeouts.

The Thunder return home to begin a four-game series with Binghamton on Thursday. Game time is 7:05 PM. Jeff Marquez (13-8, 3.52) starts for Trenton against Binghamton's Michael Devaney (4-8, 5.22).
