Thunder Reduces Camp Roster by Four Players

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League, announced today that their training camp roster has been reduced by four players and defenseman Hannes Oberdorfer (Oh-ber-dorf-er, Hans) has been signed to a professional tryout agreement (PTO).

The following players were released from training camp:

Balazs Deifik (F)

Mark Freedman (D)

Erick Galt (D)

Tristan Lysko (F)

David Watson (F)

Oberdorfer, 23, skated last season in Italy with Fassa and registered two goals and two assists in 43 games. The 6-foot and 205 pound defenseman, a native of Silandro, Italy, was a part of two Italian National teams in the World Junior Championships and played in a combined total of ten games in the Under-18 and Under-20 tournaments.

The Thunder training camp roster stands at 28 players (four goaltenders and 24 skaters).

The Thunder opens its preseason schedule at San Francisco on Oct. 3 at 7:00 p.m. and will host the Bakersfield Condors at Stockton Arena on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m. Opening Night is Friday, Oct. 12 when the Thunder launches the 2012-13 season and the ECHL's 25th Anniversary campaign at home against the Ontario Reign starting at 7:30 p.m. at Stockton Arena.

A two time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," the Thunder led the ECHL in attendance for four consecutive seasons and drew over 200,000 fans for the seventh consecutive season in 2011-12.
