Thunder One-Hit 'Wolves, Take Series

Kyle Haynes, Sergio Santos, Johnny Barbato and Mark Montgomery combined on a one-hitter as the Thunder (35-25) blanked the Erie SeaWolves (20-37) 6-0 on Thursday night in front of 5,437 fans at ARM & HAMMER Park.

With the win, the Thunder took their fourth straight series and have won 10-of-their-last-11.

Haynes, who surrendered only two baserunners, picked up his first double-A victory by throwing five innings. Haynes struck out five and allowed one hit, one walk and hit one batter.

The Thunder offense struck for single runs in the third and fourth innings and a pair of runs in each the sixth and the seventh. Aaron Judge, Greg Bird and Eric Jagielo each recorded two hits and drove in a run.

In the second inning, Thunder catcher Gary Sanchez was hit by a foul tip on his right hand and was removed from the game prior to his first at-bat in the bottom of the inning. His replacement, Francisco Arcia, hit his first home run of the season in the fourth inning and finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Jake Cave recorded his fifth multi-hit game in his last six and finished the homestand 11-for-25 (.440) with 10 runs scored.
