Three Tobs Join CPL League First and Second Teams

Wilson, NC- The Wilson Tobs are excited to announce that three of their 2016 season players made the All-CPL First and Second Teams. Andrew Webster won a position on the CPL First Team as a Designated Hitter/Utility Player. Logan Baldwin and Alex Yarem made the CPL Second Team as outfielder and pitcher.
The teams are made up of 24 standout talents from the 2016 season. Each team features one player per infield position, four designated utility/designated hitter players, five outfielders, six starting pitchers and four relief pitchers. There were many standout talents elected to each of the teams with the three Tobs in the mix.
Andrew Webster earned a spot as the week 2 player of the week for designated hitter/utility player. Andrew is a local Wilson product spending 2 years with the Tobs organization and attends Barton College in Wilson. Webster had a .313 batting average in 150 at bats; he was also 4th on the team in batting average. Additionally, Webster was 5th in the league in doubles and a crucial part of the Tobs lineup.
Logan Baldwin from Georgia Southern University received a spot on the CPL Second Team as he led the league in stolen bases with 36. Logan broke the Tobs single season stolen base record and sits in the top 7 all time for stolen bases in the CPL. Baldwin was a significant part of the Tobs lineup with the 3rd highest batting average on the team at .316 in 177 at bats. Baldwin made a huge impact on the base path for the Tobs and as an outfielder with 111 putouts.
Alex Yarem from Campbell University attained a spot on the CPL Second Team for leading the league in wins as a pitcher with 7 overall during the season. Yarem had a 4.01 ERA with 49.1 innings pitched throughout the season. He also had 37 strikeouts, putting him in the top three for Wilson.
The Coastal Plain League is the nation's premier summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 20th season in 2016, the CPL features 16 teams playing in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL has had nearly 1,300 alumni drafted and 90 of those - including 2011 AL MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander - make their Major League debut; while another notable alum - Russell Wilson - won Super Bowl XLVIII.
