Prince Albert Raiders News Release

Kennewick, WA - The Prince Albert Raiders (9-9-3-0) were unable to dig out of a three-goal second period hole on Friday night in a 4-1 loss to the Tri-City Americans (13-5-2-0) at the Toyota Center.

A fast-paced first period yielded no goals for either team. The Raiders got the jump on their hosts early in the frame, but the Americans took the momentum with a late power play. Ian Scott was strong again, stopping all 14 shots faced in the frame.

The Americans took over the game with three goals in the second period. Michael Rasmussen opened the scoring at the 5:06 mark with a tap-in goal on a rebound. Later, Rasmussen got his second of the period when he redirected a shot while part of a crowd in front of Scott. About a minute later, Juuso Valimaki beat Scott with a wrister from the blueline.

The Raiders got on the board early in the third period on the power play. Cole Fonstad's blast from the left faceoff circle was redirected by Parker Kelly past Americans goaltender Beck Warm to make it a 3-1 game. Less than two minutes later, the Americans re-gained their three-goal lead when Morgan Geekie solved Scott on a breakaway.

Scott finished the game with 32 saves in a losing effort. Warm stopped 30 shots to earn the win for the Americans.

The Raiders wrap up their six-game road trip tonight in Spokane against the Chiefs (10-8-1-2) at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. Game time is 9:05 p.m. The next Raiders' home game is on Friday, November 24 against the Swift Current Broncos on 80s Night Presented By Canadian Tire.
