Fargo Force News Release
FARGO, ND - Kyle Bettens, Aaron Huglen, and Josh Nodler have each been named to the NHL Central Scouting "preliminary players to watch list" in preparation for the 2019 NHL Entry Draft in Vancouver next June. All 3 Force forwards were given an initial "C rating", which indicates that players are considered draft prospects in the 4th, 5th, or 6th round range.
Bettens, a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, played the past two seasons for the Winnipeg Wild Midget AAA program. In 88 games for the Wild, the forward tallied 135 (56-79-135) points. Bettens won back-to-back Manitoba Midget Hockey League championships with the Wild, led the league in assists and points, was named to the first all-star team in 2017-18, and was named the 2017-18 MMHL most valuable player. He is committed to Bemidji State University.
Huglen is also in his first season in the USHL after playing his youth and high school hockey for his hometown of Roseau, MN. In two seasons of high school hockey for the Rams, Huglen has racked up 59 points on 31 goals and 28 assists . He recently played in the All-American Top Prospects Game in St. Paul, Minnesota with other top American 2019 draft prospects. The forward is planning on splitting the season between Fargo and Roseau. Huglen is committed to the University on Minnesota.
Nodler was the Force's first round pick in the 2017 USHL Futures Draft. The 17-year-old out of Oak Park, Michigan led the USA U18 team in scoring this past August during the prestigious Hlinka tournament, which is held for the World's top draftable players. Nodler also led Honeybaked U16 in scoring last season. Nodler is committed to Michigan State University.
The Force open their home schedule this weekend with a two-game series against the Sioux Falls Stampede at Scheels Arena. Puck drop for both Friday and Saturday night is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
