The Best Field Trip Ever
January 30, 2013 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Springfield Jr. Blues News Release
60 kids from the Washington and Lincoln Preschools gathered early Wednesday morning at the Nelson Center, to skate with the Jr. Blues. The group of kids, along with their parents, enjoyed a fun filled morning field trip with the Springfield Jr. Blues' players. For most of the 4-year old students it was their first time being on ice skates.
The kids enjoyed activites at the rink such as being pulled on sleds on the ice, skating with the players and watching the Jr. Blues players play a short game of pond hockey. The kids also enjoyed a short story, read by Jr. Blues players, in the team's locker room. The team also signed autographs for all the kids and took individual photos with them.
One of the kids was even quoted as saying "This is the best field trip ever!"
