Stars Travel to the Midwest for a Three-Game Road Trip

CEDAR PARK, Texas - After splitting their weekend games against the San Jose Barracuda, the Texas Stars hit the road for a three-game swing through the Midwest beginning on Wednesday.

-- THIS WEEK'S SCHEDULE --

November 16 and November 18 at 6:00 p.m. CST at Grand Rapids Griffins:

The Stars will meet the Grand Rapids Griffins for the first two matchups between the clubs on Wednesday and Friday. Grand Rapids is currently 8-4-0-0 on the season and sit second in the AHL's Central Division. Anthony Mantha, Matt Lorito, and Mitch Callahan each lead the Griffins with 10 points this season. Mantha is currently in the NHL with the Detroit Red Wings. Grand Rapids has won three straight.

November 19 at 7:00 p.m. CST at Rockford Ice Hogs:

Texas and Rockford meet for the first of four total matchups this season on Saturday after the Stars went 2-1-1-0 in last year's series against the IceHogs. Both teams earned their two wins on the road last year. Goaltender Maxime Lagace went 2-0-0 against Rockford and posted a 2.01 GAA and .937 SV% in both games started for the Stars. Texas forward Travis Morin (1-45) and Rockford forward Jake Dowell (2-35) each posted five points to lead all skaters in the series.

November 11, 2016 vs. San Jose Barracuda, 5-3 Win:

Travis Morin tallied two goals, Denis Gurianov buried his first career goal, and Brendan Ranford notched three assists in his return to the lineup to lead the Texas Stars to a 5-3 win over the San Jose Barracuda on Friday at H-E- B Center at Cedar Park. Barclay Goodrow scored all three goals for the Barracuda, earning a hat trick in the process. Maxime Lagace stopped 29 of 32 shots in net for his fifth win of the season, and his fourth in five starts at home while Troy Grosenick suffered the loss with 21 saves.

November 12, 2016 vs. San Jose Barracuda, 8-5 Loss:

Both teams combined for 13 goals, but the Texas Stars came up short in an 8-5 loss to the San Jose Barracuda on Saturday at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park. Five power play goals were scored in the contest. Brandon DeFazio tallied a pair of goals for the Stars, who split their two-game weekend against the Barracuda. Texas forward Remi Elie finished with three assists in the game. San Jose was led by Dan O ' Regan (1-34) and Tim Heed (2-13), who recorded multi-point games.

The Texas Stars are three regular season wins away from 300 in franchise history. The Stars currently hold an all-time regular season record of 297-156-40-29 in their AHL tenure. Texas is in the middle of a stretch that began on Nov. 2 where they play 10 of 13 games on the road. The Stars are 3-2-0-0 so far in those 13 games. Saturday's game against San Jose was the 500th in Andrew Bodnarchuk's AHL career. Nick Ebert appeared in his 100th AHL game on Friday, and rookie forward Denis Gurianov tallied his first career goal.

The Stars return home on Saturday, Nov.26, to host the San Antonio Rampage at 7 p.m. CST at H-E-B Center. The game will feature a Stars Reusable Tote Bag giveaway, courtesy of HealthTronics.
