Texas Revolution Update

March 27, 2015 - Champions Indoor Football (CIF)
Texas Revolution News Release

Revs Look to Lay Down The Law

The 2-1 Revolution make their lone trip to Dodge City, Kansas this weekend to take on the 2-1 Law and former Rev, Josh Floyd.

Some of you may remember receiver, quarterback hybrid, Floyd form his short stint in Texas during the 2014 season. Since he has taken the helm as the Dodge City signal caller and drove them into the CPIFL Playoffs in 2014.

Coming off a narrow win in San Angelo, the Law average almost 54 points per game while allowing 51. With Texas having the most stingy defense in the CIF, the goal will be to contain Floyd and force him to throw into tight windows. With the aggressive front three of Dixon, Williams and Sherer look for the run happy Law to be forced to throw the ball.

Running back Darius Fudge (45-169) and 7 touchdowns is leading the CIF in rushing and looks to have another big game following behind the largest and quickest offensive line in the league. This will allow quarterback Robert Kent to continue being efficient with a 103.2 passer rating and a 65% completion rate to find an ever so talented receiving corps who has amassed 455 yards and 7 touchdowns in 3 games.

The game kicks off at 7:05 CST with the road game watch party at Game On Sports Bar in Fairview, Texas. You can also listen to Sonny Clark's call on BlogTalk radio. The Revolution return home to the allen event center to take on the Amarillo Venom April 4th.

Revs Slay Gladiators

The Texas Revolution defeated the Duke City Gladiators 56-16 Saturday night inside the Allen Event Center.

Having another great defensive effort the Revs defense didn't allow a single pint in the first half with the offense giving up a safety on a botched snap.

Turning things around offensively, the Revs kept the ground game running smooth with Darius Fudge adding another 3 touchdowns to his season total and having 14 carries for 40 yards. Quarterback Robert Kent has proven to be super efficient once again completing 13-18 passes for 165 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was never sacked and didn't throw any interceptions.

Former Patriot, Johnathan Haggerty led the receiving corps in his Revolution debut having 6 catches for 89 yards, but would have had a 45 yard touchdown if it wasn't called back for holding.

The Revs are headed to Dodge City this weekend to face the Law and hope to build on their winning effort last week to improve the overall CIF record to 3-1.

DeMario Dixon CIF Defensive POW

Texas Revs defensive end Demario Dixon had his best performance of the season to date last week against the Duke City Gladiators, in the process being recognized as the Champions Indoor Football Defensive Player of the Week.

Dixon racked up 6 tackles, 4 of which went for a loss, along with 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble which was picked up for a touchdown by teammate Roger Stewart. The Revs went on to beat the Gladiators 56-16 in a game where the defense dominated.

Dixon is a second year player and starter for the Revs and is the current all-time sack leader for the team with 12 total sacks. Keep fueling that D DeMario!
