TEXAS OUTLASTS SAN ANTONIO IN 4-3 DECISION

CEDAR PARK, Texas - Matt Mangene's third-period goal lifted the Texas Stars (8-7-0-1) to a 4-3 victory over the San Antonio Rampage (9-5-1-0) on Wednesday at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.
San Antonio opened the scoring just 28 seconds into the contest when Felix Girard slipped a backhander past Stars netminder Landon Bow for his fifth goal of the season. The Stars notched the game at one at the 13:32 mark as Texas capitalized on the power play when Curtis McKenzie connected on a backdoor pass from Travis Morin.
The Rampage regained the lead at 5:43 of the second period when Andrew Agozzino found A.J. Greer in the slot for his first goal of the season. The Stars fired back at the 8:19 mark as McKenzie registered his second power-play goal of the evening. San Antonio took a 3-2 advantage at 11:40 after Alex Belzile sent a wrister past a screened Bow. With 21 seconds remaining in the middle frame, Roope Hintz beat Rampage goaltender Spencer Martin on a breakaway attempt to tie the game at three heading into the second intermission.
Mangene ultimately registered the game winner with a backhanded shot 13:25 into the third period as the Stars held off the Rampage in the final seven minutes of regulation.
