Cedar Park, TX - The Texas Stars (25-13-3-4, 57 points) defeated the Milwaukee Admirals (26-15-15, 58 points) 5-2 on Tuesday night in front of 4,272 fans at Cedar Park Center. Texas center Aaron Gagnon recorded two goals and an assist as the Stars improved to 13-6-3-4 at home. Forward Perttu Lindgren scored and added an assist for the Stars, who now have points in five straight games. Texas goalie Todd Ford (3-0-1) stopped 21 of 23 Milwaukee shots in the win. The Stars will host the Abbotsford Heat on Friday, January 29th at 7:30 PM and on Saturday, January 30th at 7:00 PM. Texas continues its "Hockey for Haiti" benefit during both games this weekend to support the American Red Cross International Relief Fund.

Texas scored 5:17 into the first period, taking an early 1-0 lead over Milwaukee. Defenseman Andrew Hutchinson fired a one-timer from the top of the left-wing circle past Admirals goalie Chet Pickard during a power play. Perttu Lindgren and Travis Morin assisted the defenseman's fourth goal of the season. The Stars scored a second power-play goal at 15:46 of the first period, taking a 2-0 lead. Center Aaron Gagnon redirected a shot from defenseman Ivan Vishnevskiy, scoring his eighth goal of the year. Maxime Fortunus also tallied an assist on the power-play goal.

The Stars increased their lead to 3-0 at 2:55 of the second period. Perttu Lindgren received a pass from Mathieu Beaudoin in the slot, beating Pickard on the stickside. Milwaukee scored their first goal of the night at 18:01 with a power-play goal by Colin Wilson. The Admirals forward sent a wrist shot from the right-wing circle past Texas goalie Todd Ford for the 3-1 score. Wilson's eighth goal of the year ended Ford's shutout streak at 158:34, a new Stars record for a scoreless streak by a goaltender.

In the third period, Texas winger Sergei Korostin scored a goal from behind the right goal line at 5:29.The puck rebounded off of Chet Pickard and into the Milwaukee net, increasing the Stars lead to 4-1. Aaron Gagnon tallied his second point of the night with an assist on Korostin's tenth goal of the season. Admirals right wing Hugh Jessiman scored his 11th goal of the year at 17:06, cutting the Texas lead to 4-2. With 1:05 left in the game, Aaron Gagnon scored an empty-net goal. Gagnon's second goal of the night brought Texas a 5-2 victory over the Milwaukee Admirals.

Texas will host Abbotsford on Friday, Jan 29 and Saturday, Jan. 30. The first 3,000 fans to the 7:30 PM Friday game receive a Texas Stars Calendar and the team will participate in a post-game autograph session. Also, the Cedar Park Center will sell $2.00 domestic drafts and $1.00 hot dogs. During Friday's game, there will be a silent auction to benefit the American Red Cross International Relief Fund in support of the disaster in Haiti. The first 2,000 fans for Saturday's 7:00 pm start will receive a Texas Stars youth t-shirt. Also, fans may purchase the State Farm Family four-pack for Saturday's game (four tickets, four sodas and four hot dogs for $44).
