Terry Ruskowski Becomes Member of 400 Win Club

GLENDALE, AZ (March 3, 2013) - Quad City Mallards Head Coach Terry Ruskowski became just the fourth coach to reach 400 CHL wins thanks to a 3-2 shootout victory over the Fort Worth Brahmas on Sunday afternoon at the i wireless Center in Moline, Illinois. Ruskowski is now 400-226-69 in his CHL coaching career.

Ruskowski is in his first season with the Mallards and his 11th season in the CHL. His first nine seasons were with the Laredo Bucks where he coached the team to the playoffs in eight of his nine seasons and to the CHL Finals in four consecutive seasons (2004-07). Ruskowski's Bucks squad won the CHL's Ray Miron Presidents' Cup Championship in 2004 and 2006 and he was also named the 2006 CHL Coach of the Year.

After Ruskowski left the Bucks, the veteran of 630 games in the NHL as a player coached the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees in the 2011-12 season guiding them to the playoffs and a 34-27-7 record.

His first run with the Flock has seen him lead the team to a 25-24-6 record and they currently sit in seventh place in the Berry Conference (top eight teams make it the playoffs).

Ruskowski joins Doug Sauter (544 wins), Scott Muscutt (435 wins) and Chris Stewart (415 wins) as the only coaches to win 400 CHL games.
