Teddy Tosses, Holiday Happenings And Stocking Stuffers From The Pens

December 14, 2009 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release

Fans, you did an INCREDIBLE job with the first night of our annual Tobyhanna Army Depot Teddy Bear Toss on Friday night. There were 636 stuffed animals tossed onto the Wachovia Arena ice, which are being distributed to less fortunate kids throughout northeast Pennsylvania.

But we think you can do even better this weekend.

The Penguins record for stuffed toys collected during the Teddy Bear Toss is 1,610 in a season, meaning we need 975 more to break the mark. Let's help every child in the area experience a great holiday season.

In the past 10 seasons, Penguins fans have donated more than 13,000 toys to the Tobyhanna Army Depot's Operation Santa. Thanks for all of your help over the years!

THE PERFECT STOCKING STUFFERS - PENS HOLIDAY PUCKS!

Still looking for that perfect gift for the hockey fan on your holiday list? Pick up a special Penguins Holiday Puck during this Saturday's game against the Toronto Marlies.

Penguins players have signed 1,000 special edition holiday pucks, which will be available on a first-come-first-served basis at the Penguins merchandise stand across from the fan assistance booth in section 108. Pucks will be sold for $10, and all proceeds will benefit the Wilkes-Barre Jr. Pens youth hockey organization.

There is one catch - each puck will come individually wrapped, so fans won't know who has signed their pucks until they are opened.

Additionally, each player has signed one puck in silver, and the lucky recipients of those items will also receive an autographed promotional stick from that player.
