Victoria Royals News Release
Victoria, BC- Team White was paced offensively by Blake Barger who recorded a hat-trick to help his club down Team Blue 6-3 in the yearly Intra-Squad game. Barger, who the Royals acquired from the Moose Jaw Warriors earlier this summer, opened the scoring just over a minute into the game before he tallied his second goal later in the period. He would complete the hat-trick in the third frame when he scored the eventual game winner. Matthew Phillips recorded two goals of his own, which included an empty netter, and Gunnar Wegleitner registered the other goal for Team White.
Team Blue's first marker was scored by Arjun Atwal when he shot in a rebound from the side of the net. Victoria, BC native Lach Hadley and returning Royal Ralph Jarratt also added goals for their team in the third period.
Dylan Myskiw and Nate Reinhart of Team White stopped 33 of the 36 pucks they faced, while recently signed netminder Dean McNabb and Ante Piplica combined for 31 saves on the 36 shots fired their way for Team Blue.
Neither team was able to capitalize on the powerplay. Team White held a 0/20.0% mark and Team Blue went 0/10.0%.
