The lead was soon relinquished in the bottom half of the inning for the second night in a row. Shane Watson took the hill for Lakewood and could not keep the Hoppers off the board in the first frame.

With two down and two on it was Jesus Solorzano hitting a two-run double off of the starter to tie the game. Matt Juengel was the next hitter and he doubled home Solorzano to put Greensboro in front at 3-2.

Watson finished four innings before he was lifted for Geoff Broussard. Broussard (1-0) came on and pitched two scoreless frames and put himself in line for the win. The bullpen remained solid and shut out the 'Hoppers over the final eight innings.

Zach Cooper pitched the seventh and Steven Inch wrapped up the night with two scoreless on the mound.

The final two runs came in the seventh and eighth innings respectively for Lakewood. In the seventh it was Taylor with a leadoff double, which scored on Angelo Mora's single. And in the eighth Taylor brought home Carlos Tocci with an RBI double to make it 10-3.
