Minot, ND - With the Tauros schedule settling back into the usual Friday/Saturday swing and college teams being back from Christmas break it is time to take another look at how the Tauros alum are doing at the next level.
In NCAA DI play Jon Lizotte continues to perform well in his Freshman season at St. Cloud State. His +2 rating over four games since our last report brings the former Tauro Captain to +13 in 20 games played, he also has seven assists on the season. Mason Morelli picked up the second goal of his freshman season at the University of Nebraska Omaha. In net, despite picking up his first loss of the season Merrick Madsen continues to post excellent numbers at Harvard going 2-1-0 since our last look and posting a 1.78 GAA and .940 SV% overall on the season. Madsen's four shutouts rank fifth among NCAA DI goaltenders while his save percentage is tied for fourth. Speaking of shutouts, Ryan Ruck picked up his first career college shutout of St. Lawrence over the weekend. He has gone 3-0-1 since the last report after a rocky start to his freshman year at Northeastern. Another freshman, Atte Tolvanen, is performing well for the Wildcats of Northern Michigan; Tolvanen ranks 12th in the nation with a .933 sv% and is fifth in games played with 19.
In NCAA DIII in three games since the last report, Kelvin Walz posted a goal and two assists for St. Mary's, at Marian University Jake Howie had a goal and an assist, and Jordan Stejskal posted two helpers for the University of Wisconsin - Stout. In goal Jake Hebda and Tyler Parks each have picked up wins since the end of the break.
Fargo Force forward Blake Lizotte leads the Tauro alum contingent in the USHL with 10 points (3g 7a) in seven games since our last check-in. Defenseman Casey Johnson has two goals and three assists to go with a +5 rating for Dubuque. Michael Bigelbach (Omaha) and John Snodgrass (Cedar Rapids) each have a goal and two assists.
