TAMPA, Fla. - The Tampa Tarpons (6-7) produced a season-high 12 runs, 15 hits and four home runs to trounce the Daytona Tortugas (9-4), 12-0, on Wednesday night a George M. Steinbrenner Field. Tampa pitchers now lead the Florida State League with three shutouts.

For his second-straight start, RHP Trevor Stephan (W, 1-0) tossed six scoreless innings. This time, the 22-year-old tallied a career-high eight strikeouts while scattering two hits and two walks and tossing 57 of 88 pitches for strikes. Stephan now leads the league with 22 strikeouts in 16 innings.

Tampa erupted for six runs in the third against Daytona starter Scott Moss. Pablo Olivares walked and Diego Castillo doubled to begin the frame. Olivares scored on a groundout by Estevan Florial and Thairo Estrada followed with an RBI single. Two more scored when Isiah Gilliam blasted an opposite field home run to right.

One out later, Timmy Robinson knocked a single into left and scored when Angel Aguilar ripped a line drive home run over the left field wall.

Olivares led off the fourth with a home run of his own. One out later, Florial legged out an infield single, stole second and later scored on a two-out hit by Gilliam.

Moss (L, 1-1) surrendered eight earned runs on 10 hits in three and two-third innings, walking one while striking out seven. The southpaw allowed a career-high three home runs and threw 50 of 81 pitches for strikes.

Aguilar walked and later scored on a base hit by Olivares in the fifth. Florial walked, Estrada singled and both scored when Brandon Wagner crushed a home run down the right field line in the sixth, giving Tampa the 12-0 lead. It's the second time this season Wagner has homered in back-to-back nights.

LHP Trevor Lane allowed one hit while striking out a pair in two scoreless relief innings. RHP Matt Frawley capped the shutout by working around a walk in a scoreless ninth, striking out one.

Estrada (3-for-5, 2B, RBI, 2R) played in his first game since returning from the disabled list. Olivares (3-for-3, HR, BB, 2RBI, 2R) reached base all four times. Gilliam (2-for-5, HR, 3RBI, R) extended his hit and RBI streak to eight-straight games. Aguilar (2-for-3, HR, BB, 2RBI, 2R) had his second-straight multi-hit game and is on a five-game hit streak.

The rubber match is set for Thursday, with RHP Freicer Perez (0-1, 8.64) scheduled to pitch against RHP Ryan Olson (2-0, 3.27) at 6:30 p.m. On Taco Thursday, fans can enjoy the all-you-can-eat Taco and Nacho bar for $18, $5 house Margaritas, and $4 Coronas from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Live play-by-play audio will be available on the Tarpons Radio Network.
