Tampa Bay Lightning Reassign Cory Conacher to Syracuse Crunch

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Tampa Bay Lightning have re-assigned forward Cory Conacher to the Syracuse Crunch today, Lightning vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced.

Conacher, 26, was recalled from the Crunch on November 6 and did not see any game action. He made his 2016-17 debut with the Lightning on October 29 at the New Jersey Devils. Conacher recorded one shot on goal in 13:26 of ice time. In seven games with the Crunch this season, He has posted three goals and eight points to go along with eight penalty minutes. Conacher leads Syracuse for assists with five, is tied for the team lead for points and is tied for third for goals.

The 5-foot-8, 180-pound forward has appeared in 173 career AHL games, recording 70 goals and 161 points. Conacher set career highs during the 2011-12 AHL season, posting 39 goals and 80 points in 75 games with the Norfolk Admirals, the Lightning's top affiliate at the time. That season, Conacher led the Admirals to a Calder Cup Championship and was awarded the Les Cunningham Award as the AHL's regular season MVP.

The Burlington, Ontario native has skated in 142 career NHL games with three different teams over three seasons, posting 19 goals and 58 points to go along with 84 penalty minutes. He had his most successful NHL stint with the Bolts during the 2012-13 season, recording nine goals and 24 points in 35 games. In his first six NHL games while playing for the Lightning, Conacher collected five goals and 12 points.

Conacher was signed as a free agent by the Lightning on July 13, 2016.
