Indianapolis Indians News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - Adam Frazier drove home Dan Gamache with two outs in the bottom of the 12th inning to send the Indianapolis Indians to a 1-0 victory over the Durham Bulls on Tuesday night. Starting pitchers Jameson Taillon and Matt Andriese dominated by combining for 14 shutout innings and only five hits before the game was settled by the bullpens.

Frazier stepped to the plate with the bases full but two outs in the 12th, and he hit a line-drive that dropped in front of former Indian Jaff Decker to plate Gamache and seal the win. Gamache led off the frame for Indianapolis (13-11) with a single through the right side, and then advanced to third on a double by Willy Garcia.

Taillon finished with two hits in 7.0 innings, walking one and striking out three. He at one point retired 16 consecutive Durham batters from the first through the sixth.

Jorge Rondon (2-1) fired three scoreless innings of relief to earn the win. Guido Knudson replaced Taillon in the eighth and navigated two shutout frames.

Andriese matched the Victory Field opponent record for strikeouts by a starting pitcher with 14. He allowed three hits through seven innings of his own for Durham (12-15).

With the two teams splitting the first pair of games, the Tribe and Bulls will go for the series triumph on Wednesday morning. First pitch at Victory Field is set for 11:05 a.m.
