St. John's IceCaps News Release

ST. JOHN'S, NL - The St. John's IceCaps fell 6-2 to the Syracuse Crunch in a chippy affair at Mile One Centre on Tuesday night.

The Crunch came out hot, with Matt Taormina and Jeremy Morin scoring in the first seven minutes of the game. Julien Brouillette scored his first goal of the season (and as a new IceCap) minutes later to bring St. John's within one.

Syracuse came back with Taormina and Morin both scoring their second tallies of the game, and although Max Friberg scored late in the second, the IceCaps couldn't gain enough momentum to complete the comeback.

The Crunch scored twice more in the third to bring the final score to 6-2. Joel Hanley and Jacob de la Rose each picked up two helpers in the loss.

The IceCaps rematch the Crunch at Mile One Centre tomorrow night (7:30pm). Catch all the action with broadcaster Brian Rogers at www.stjohnsicecaps.com, KIXX Country 930AM and www.ahllive.com.
