SYRACUSE CRUNCH ANNOUNCE CAPTAIN AND ALTERNATES
November 13, 2017 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Syracuse Crunch News Release
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse Crunch have announced that forward Erik Condra will continue to serve as the team's captain. Additionally, Cory Conacher has been named a permanent alternate captain, while Tye McGinn and Michael Bournival will rotate home and away.
"We think these four players are strong leaders and already have the respect of the guys in the room," Head Coach Benoit Groulx said. "Condra, Conacher, McGinn and Bournival have an impressive work ethic and poise and play with the right habits. These guys are veterans in the league and on our team."
Condra is entering his first full season as the Crunch's captain after being named on March 17. He is the 20th full-time captain in Crunch franchise history and the third since Syracuse affiliated with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2012. Condra followed Luke Witkowski, who served for the first half of the 2016-17 season before earning a full-time position with the Lightning, and Mike Angelidis, who captained the Crunch from 2012 to 2016.
Conacher will wear an "A" for Syracuse all season. McGinn will skate as the team's second alternate captain for all home games, while Bournival will serve on the road.
Single game tickets and packages are on sale now and can be purchased in person at the Crunch office located inside the War Memorial Arena at 800 S. State St. in Syracuse, by calling the office at 315-473-4444.
