BLOOP, THERE IT IS: It began with positive bangs. It ended with a deflating bloop. The RailRiders fell to the host Red Wings in a see-saw Saturday afternoon affair, 7-5.

ALL ABOUT THE BENJAMIN: Ben Gamel, last season's IL Rookie of the Year, went 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two runs scored and his team-best seventh stolen base. His stolen-base total stands tied for third in the IL. Gamel owns a .321 average in 20 games played. Over his last 11 games, the usual leadoff man has gone 16-for-40 (.389) with four steals and nine runs scored.

SOLID SHOWINGS: Aaron Judge doubled and homered. He has gone 5-for-12 on the series with three extra-base hits and three RBIs. Cesar Puello went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Since he came off the DL earlier this week, he has gone 5-for-8. Donovan Solano posted a pair of hits and scored a run. He has gone 6-for-11 through three games on the road trip and 12-for-27 (.444) over his last seven games, lifting his average by 72 points (.240-.312).

AT THE START: In his first SWB start, Richard Bleier tossed four innings plus two batters. He was charged with three runs (two earned) on four hits and one walk. He struck out one and threw 81 pitches (47 strikes). The sinkerballer recorded eight groundouts against three in the air.

ON THE OFFENSIVE: The RailRiders have scored a combined 21 runs on 33 hits through three games this road trip. They have gone 12-for-30 (.400) with men in scoring position.

R&R: Rob Refsnyder entered the series in a 4-for-30 funk with no RBIs over his prior eight games. He singled and scored on Saturday. He has gone 4-for-11 with a walk on the series, scoring four runs.

DUAL THREAT: Catcher Gary Sanchez co-leads the IL with 11 extra-base hits: eight doubles, one triple, two homers. He paces the IL's catchers with 147 total fielding chances and no errors. He also leads the loop's backstops with 140 putouts. When he's been behind the plate, opposing base stealers have been caught six times in 11 attempts (.545), tying him with Norfolk's Francisco Pena for the IL's best caught-stealing rate among qualifying catchers.

PARM CHARM: Former Red Wing Chris Parmelee (2012-14) went 1-for-3 with an RBI double, a walk and a run scored in game two on Friday. After starting the year 2-for-26 (.077) with 10 strikeouts, he has gone 13-for-32 (.406) with five extra-base hits, five RBIs and just seven whiffs over nine games.

APRIL RECAP: Only Columbus (15) and Gwinnett (13) won more April games in the IL than SWB...As a team, the RailRiders hit .254 (7th) with a .323 OBP (10th) and slugged .366 (5th) to score 4.22 runs/game (T-3rd)...The pitching staff assembled a 3.21 ERA (6th) and 1.31 WHIP (6th) while recording 9.1 K/9 IP (2nd).

OFF THE RAILS: Conor Mullee allowed the first run of his Triple-A career...The RailRiders issued a season-worst-tying seven walks and hit a batter...SWB batters had not struck out all game before the top of the order all went down on strikes in the ninth...Rochester's bullpen tossed 3.2 scoreless innings...The announced paid attendance of 6,918 made for the biggest road crowd to watch the RailRiders play this season...The RailRiders have lost 17 of their last 25 at Frontier Field.
