Fayetteville SwampDogs News Release

WILSON, N.C. - The Fayetteville SwampDogs fell to the Wilson Tobs 7-4 Saturday night at Fleming Stadium.

The SwampDogs scored runs in each of the first three innings against Tobs starter Trent Cormier to take an early lead, with Mitch Roman (Jr./Wright State) scoring two of the three runs.

Meanwhile, Billy Elliott (Jr./Pitt.-Greensburg) pitched well in his three innings, allowing only two runs in his start.

The Tobs would bust things open in the fourth inning, putting up five runs against the SwampDogs bullpen to take a four run lead.

In the ninth inning, the SwampDogs battled back to plate a run on a Roman sac fly, but Butch Baird was able to hang on for the save.

The SwampDogs (18-35) finish out their season schedule on the road at the Morehead City Marlins on Monday.
