Sutton earns promotion to Salt Lake City

A day after scoring the game-winning run in Texas League All-Star Game, Arkansas infielder-outfielder Nate Sutton has been promoted to Triple-A Salt Lake City. Infielder Chris Gutierrez was transferred from Salt Lake to the Travelers Double-A roster Thursday.
Sutton, 26, was selected to Texas League All-Star team after batting .307 in the first half of the season, reeling off a 15-game hit streak from late-May to mid-June. For the year, Sutton hit 11 doubles, two triples and a home run, while stealing nine bases to go with a .383 on-base percentage.
Gutierrez, 25, played in three games with Salt Lake after signing on June 19, batting 2-for-9 (.222) with one double and a run scored. He started the 2009 season with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Eastern-Double-A) of the Toronto Blue Jays organization, batting .242 with three extra-base hits in 62 games while playing third base and shortstop, before being released June 17.
