Saint John Sea Dogs News Release

SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs are proud to hold their annual "Support Our Troops" game tonight at 7 p.m. against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.

"Support Our Troops" is held annually by the Sea Dogs as a way to recognize all members of Canadian Forces, past and present, and thank them for their service.

The team has scheduled pregame ceremonies and is offering special ticket prices for military personnel. Canadian Forces personnel, with appropriate military identification, can purchase tickets for the game for only $10 (including service charges) at the Harbour Station Box Office.

Special guests at tonight's game include members from the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 69, Saint John, Canadian Forces Base Gagetown, HMCS Brunswicker, and the 3rd Artillery Field Regiment.

The Sea Dogs received special permission from the Legion to wear poppy decals on their helmets tonight.

A ceremonial puck drop will be held prior to the start of the game. Acclaimed musician, Terry Kelly, is scheduled to perform "A Pittance of Time," a song he wrote in tribute to Canadian veterans and their sacrifices. He will also sing the national anthem.

The Legion Official Colour Party will participate in pregame ceremonies. John White is slated to perform "The Last Post."
