Arizona Sundogs News Release

Prescott Valley, AZ - The Arizona Sundogs won 3-2 against Allen Americans Wednesday night at Tim's Toyota Center in front of 2,109 people.

This was the fifth shootout that the Sundogs have seen this season, making their record 2-3. Both teams have a lot riding on the three game series which will decide first place in the league standings. Allen's Tyler Ludwig was called for slashing and Adam Pineault was able to play it to their advantage, registering a shorthanded, unassisted goal past Arizona's David Brown.

Allen's emotions were running high entering the second period and with that came 53 penalties minutes combined between the two teams. Allen was credited with 40 of those minutes when Kip Brennan was served a game misconduct for his hit on Adam Smyth just 19 seconds left in the second. The Sundogs while on the man advantage tied the game with the goal being credited to Derek LeBlanc and assists from David Schlemko and new addition Chad Langlais. Brian McMillin of Allen answered backed four minutes later while on the power play.

Jason Morgan scored the game equalizer in the third period when he banked the puck just off the right side of the crease. With neither team able to break the tie in regulation they were forced into overtime and eventually a shootout. Jason Morgan and David Schlemko scored for Arizona and Brett Skinner made their lone goal for Allen in the shootout. This was the first of three meetings between these two teams in Prescott Valley. They will meet again Friday night as Arizona continues to look for the lead.
