Stretch Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, defending Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, are proud to announce that center C.J. Stretch has been named the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for the week of November 19-25.
Last week, Stretch recorded a total of six points (4g, 2a) over a two game span. On Friday, the center earned an assist in the Reign's 5-1 loss in San Francisco. The next game, a 7-3 Reign victory in Bakersfield, was a record-breaking performance for the Irvine, Calif. native. He broke the team's single-game point and goal records with four goals and an assist for a total of five points. Stretch earned an ECHL season-high plus-minus rating of +6 in the game, which ties the current Reign record.
The 23-year-old is in his third season with the Reign and currently leads the team with 12 goals and 22 points (12g, 10a). Stretch has earned a total of 94 points (42g, 52a) in 109 games in a Reign uniform. Last season he saw his first AHL call-up to the Houston Aeros for 23 games where he added six more points, all assists, to his professional totals.
On behalf of Stretch, a case of pucks will be donated to an Ontario youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL.
Reign Drops:
The Ontario Reign will begin their 9-game home stand on Wednesday, Nov. 28 when they face the Orlando Solar Bears for the first time in team history. This is also a State Farm 2-for-1 Wednesday, so be sure to stop by your local State Farm agency to pick up 2-for-1 vouchers. This will be LA Kings Stanley Cup Champion Kyle Clifford's first game at Citizens Business Bank Arena in a Reign uniform. The Reign will face off against Stockton Thunder on Friday, Nov. 30 for Phil Merriam Night and Hooters will be holding a Pre-Game Rally and will be giving five complimentary wings after the game (when you show your ticket stub).
Saturday, Dec. 1 the Reign will be hosting the Stanley Cup for their fans to take pictures with on Canadian Heritage Night. The Keeper of the Cup will drop the puck and the night will be full of Canadian elements to celebrate hockey's roots up North.
