Tampa Bay Storm News Release
TAMPA BAY - This Sunday, May 1, the Tampa Bay Storm will host "Family Day" presented by MetroPCS as the team takes on American Conference rival Jacksonville Sharks at AMALIE Arena. The day will see a "Heroes & Villains" theme with several in-game experiences focusing on a battle between good and evil. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. ET.
The first 2,500 kids (12 and under) will receive a Tampa Bay Storm cape, courtesy of MetroPCS. The Storm will also be hosting a costume contest. During the second quarter, the first 100 kids who registered will be asked to come down to section 120, with the top-three winners chosen based on fan applause. Regardless of winner, all 100 kids will be given the opportunity to showcase their outfits at halftime.
In game experiences will once again include the Fling-A-Football event at halftime. Those in attendance will be encouraged to "fling" a football at a target that will be placed mid-field. One winner will receive half of an overall cash pot, with the other half providing tickets for local charity organizations. The Fling-A-Footballs will be available for purchase up until the end of the second quarter at sections 101 and 118 on the promenade level, and section 230 on the club level.
The Storm will also provide reduced concession prices pre- and post-game. Prior to kickoff, fans can enjoy $3 beer, hot dogs, soda can and water specials. All kids in attendance will also be able to enjoy reduced snack prices with $2 popcorn and ice cream specials. The kids special will run up until kickoff and then continue post-game.
To cap off the fun-filled day, all fans in attendance will be treated to a post-game showing of Despicable Me presented by Bright House Networks.
