Storm Look to Clinch Season Series Tonight vs. Rival Lincoln

Kearney, NE. - The Tri-City Storm will look to clinch the season series vs. rival Lincoln tonight at the Ice Box in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Storm have won each of the first four games in the season series. Tri-City only won three games against the Stars last season, but have had early season success against Lincoln in 2017-2018. The Storm now hold a four game winning streak against their top rival, and have outscored the Stars 13-3 this season. Their last matchup was on December 7th in a game that Tri-City won 1-0.

Tri-City is coming out of the break with a 16-6 record on the season. The Storm sit in 2nd place in the USHL league standings and only trail Fargo by one game. Lincoln is currently in 6th place in the Western Conference standings and is above .500 with an 11-9 record on the season. The Stars are 7-4 on home ice this season, but two of those losses have been to rival Tri-City. The Storm come into tonight's matchup with a 7-3 road record.

Storm goalie Filip Larsson is currently in Buffalo, NY representing Team Sweden at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship and will likely miss the next five games due to his participation in the event. Goalie Jake Barczewski has posted a 1-1 record so far during his absence. Barczewski enters tonight's matchup with a 2-2 record and a 2.21 Goals Against Average (GAA) on the season. In the Storm's last game, he recorded his first career USHL shutout in a 1-0 home win over Dubuque.

Newly acquired forward Tyler Madden is eligible to play his first game in a Storm uniform tonight. Madden was acquired in a trade on December 11th but represented the United States at the World Junior A Challenge prior to the break. Following the trade, Madden became the Storm's leading goal scorer with six goals scored on the season with the Central Illinois Flying Aces.

With a win or overtime loss, Tri-City will clinch the eight game regular season series vs. Lincoln tonight. The remaining three games in the series following tonight's matchup are April 6th in Kearney, April 7th in Lincoln, and April 14th in Kearney.
