Storm Drop Opening Game of the Weekend to Fargo

Kearney, NE. - The Tri-City Storm dropped the opening game of the weekend tonight to the Fargo Force by a final score of 3-1. The loss was just the 6th in regulation for the Storm at the Viaero Center this season. Tonight's game marked the first time Tri-City and Fargo faced off this season. The Storm will look to even up the season series tomorrow night in another home game against the Force. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:35pm on "Ag Appreciation Night" at the Viaero Center.
Fargo scored the game's opening goal 21 seconds into the game on Friday night. Evan Bell netted his 3rd goal of the season to give the Force an early 1-0 lead over Tri-City. The tally from Bell was the lone goal of the 1st period, and Tri-City skated to the locker room down by a goal. William Fallstrom scored a power play goal for the Force at the 4:16 mark of the 2nd period to increase the Fargo lead to two goals. The final goal of the 2nd period was scored by Bartek Bison at the 11:43 mark of the period to give Fargo a three goal lead entering the 3rd period.
The Storm scored the 3rd period's only goal on the power play. Connor McMenamin netted his 4th of the season at 7:18 of the 3rd with Storm assists leader Bryan Yoon picking up the lone assist on the goal. The goal from McMenamin was the only Tri-City goal of the night and the Storm fell 3-1 to the hands of the Fargo Force.
Fargo outshot Tri-City 30-19 and finished the game 1 for 4 on the power play. Force goalie Ryan Bischel recorded his 10th victory of the season, stopping 18 of 19 Storm shots. Tri-City goalie Filip Larsson picked up the loss in goal for the Storm, stopping 14 of 17 shots. Jake Barczewski replaced Larsson in net during the 2nd period and make 13 saves on 13 Fargo shots.
The Storm return to action tomorrow night at the Viaero Center in Kearney in another matchup against the Fargo Force. The game will be the 2nd of the season between the two teams. The broadcast will begin at 7:15pm on HockeyTV and the Breeze 94.5FM. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:35pm.
