Storm D Keaton Pehrson Commits to Michigan
Kearney, Neb. - Tri-City Storm defenseman Keaton Pehrson (pronounced: PEER-son) announced late Wednesday on Twitter he has verbally committed to the University of Michigan. Twenty-one players on the Storm's preseason roster are committed to play Division 1 hockey.
The 6-foot-3, 192-lb. blueliner will arrive in Kearney for his first Storm season this weekend. Tri-City acquired the 18-year-old in July from the Waterloo Black Hawks.
Pehrson captained Lakeville North High School (MN) last season and topped team defensemen with four goals and 29 points.
He spent three seasons at Lakeville North and won the 2015 Minnesota boys hockey state tournament title. Former Storm defenseman Jack McNeely captained that championship squad to a 31-0 record.
Pehrson is the fifth Storm commit to the Big Ten Conference. In June, former Storm Head Coach Bill Muckalt became the Associate Head Coach at Michigan. Former Storm goaltender Hayden Lavigne and defenseman Cutler Martin currently play for the Wolverines. 2017-18 Storm season tickets are available at the Viaero Center Box Office.
