Stingrays Sign Forward Tyler Vankleef

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Washington Capitals and AHL's Hershey Bears, have announced the signing of forward Tyler Vankleef to an amateur try out contract Saturday. The native of Dundas, Ont. played four seasons of college hockey at the Division III level with Curry College.

During the 2016-17 season with Curry College, Vankleef scored 30 points (15 goals, 15 assists) in 26 games. In four seasons with the Colonels, the forward played in 102 games and scored 67 points (39 goals, 28 assists).

Before his time at school, Vankleef spent one season in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) with the Burlington Cougars and scored 40 points on 21 goals and 19 assists during 52 games. Vankleef will wear No. 13 with the Stingrays.

South Carolina is home this weekend to face the Florida Everblades on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday, at 3:05.
