Stingrays Roll Past Everblades 2-1

Estero, FL - The South Carolina Stingrays (25-7-1-2) defeated the Florida Everblades (20-11-1-1) 2-1 at Germain Arena Friday night. Forward Luke Greiner provided the game-winning goal for the Stingrays in the third period.
Stingrays forward Igor Gongalsky opened the scoring on the power play late in the first period tapping a pass from forward Lindsay Sparks past the blocker of Everblades goaltender Trevor Cann (L, 21 saves on 23 shots) at 14:08. Defenseman Ryan Grimshaw picked up the second assist.
Former Stingrays forward Trevor Bruess tied the contest 49 seconds into the second period lifting a shot over the glove of Stingrays netminder Jeff Jakaitis (W, 29 saves on 30 shots) from the top of the goal crease. Greiner reclaimed the lead for the Stingrays at 6:51 of the final frame knocking a rebound past the right pad of Cann. Forward Wayne Simpson registered the lone assist. The Stingrays finished the game 1-for-4 on the man advantage while the Everblades went 0-for-2.
The Stingrays battle the Everblades tomorrow, Saturday, January 11 at 7:00 p.m. and return to the North Charleston Coliseum to host the Greenville Road Warriors on Tuesday, January 14 at 7:05 p.m. for 2x2 Tuesday presented by Bud Light!
