Stingrays End Road Trip with 5-0 Loss to Nailers

Wheeling, W.V. - The South Carolina Stingrays (18-19-1-3) wrapped up a three-game road trip with a 5-0 loss to the Wheeling Nailers (18-13-2-4) Sunday afternoon at WesBanco Arena.
Nailers defenseman Zach Hansen kicked off the scoring 25 seconds into the game with his second goal of the season tipping a shot under the right arm of Stingrays goaltender Ryan Zapolski (L, 31 saves on 36 shots). Defenseman Carl Sneep made it 2-0 at 16:38.
Blueliner Cody Wild gave the Nailers a three-goal lead on the power play at 14:51 of the second period blasting a feed past Zapolski from the left-wing point. Forward Christiaan Minella sent the Nailers into the second intermission with a 4-0 advantage with 42 seconds to play in the period.
Minella added one final tally at 17:22 of the third period. Nailers netminder Peter Delmas recorded his first shutout of the season stopping 20 Stingrays shots. The Stingrays finished the afternoon 0-for-5 on the power play while the Nailers went 1-for2.
