Stephen Bruno activated from the Disabled List

SEVIERVILLE - Prior to today's game, the Chicago Cubs have announced a transaction that impacts their Double-A affiliate Tennessee Smokies roster. Chicago announced that INF Stephen Bruno has been activated from the Disabled List.
Bruno spent all of last season with the Smokies. In 105 games, the 25-year old batted .263 (90-342) with two home runs and 48 RBI. The Audubon, N.J. native set career-highs in runs batted in (48) and stolen bases (nine).
In 210 career games in Sevierville, Bruno has posted a .270 clip (196-726) with 54 extra-base hits, including five homers, and 90 RBI. In 2014, the former Virginia Cavalier led the squad in doubles (26) and triples (five). Bruno was selected by the Cubs in the seventh round of the 2012 MLB Draft out of the University of Virginia.
Tennessee's active roster currently stands at 25 players with two players currently on the disabled list.
The Tennessee Smokies continue their ten-game homestand and five-game series against the Birmingham Barons, the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, this evening. RHP Paul Blackburn (3-1, 1.02 ERA) - the Cubs' Minor League Pitcher of the Month for April - is expected take the ball for the Smokies. RHP Carson Fulmer (3-3, 5.45 ERA) - the eighth overall pick in last year's draft out of Vanderbilt - is scheduled to get the start for Birmingham.
The Pilot Pre-Game Show will kick off the broadcast at 6:50 p.m. ET, leading up to the 7:05 p.m. ET first pitch from Smokies Stadium. Monday evening's broadcast can be heard on Sports Radio WNML 99.1 FM and 990 AM, as well as online at SmokiesBaseball.com or via the TuneIn Radio or MiLB First Pitch apps. The game can also be watched online via MiLB.tv.
Like all Sunday home games, today's affair will be a U.S.Cellular Family FUNday. Fans will able to take advantage of a special ticket package that includes four tickets, four meal vouchers and two Kids Zone wristbands for only $48 dollars.
