Peoria Rivermen News Release

Peoria Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald announced today that the St. Louis Blues have reassigned forward Stefan Della Rovere to the Rivermen ECHL affiliate, the Evansville IceMen.

Della Rovere, 22, is working his way back from an injury that he suffered over the summer and has yet to appear in a game this season for the Rivermen. He is expected to make his Evansville debut on Wednesday when the IceMen open a two-game series in Cincinnati.

Della Rovere's previous ECHL experience came when he made his professional debut with the South Carolina Stingrays at the end of the 2008-09 season. He appeared in two regular season games and registered an assist and six penalty minutes.

Last season, the 5-foot-11-inch, 200-pound winger played in 69 games for the Rivermen and registered 10 points (4g, 6a) and 116 penalty minutes. In his 135 AHL games with Peoria, he has 26 points (12g, 14a) and 226 penalty minutes.

Originally selected by the Washington Capitals in the seventh round (#204 overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, the Richmond Hill, ON native was acquired by the St. Louis Blues in exchange for D.J. King on July 28, 2010.
